Symbolizing Culture is a lesson plan book proposal for elementary students grade 3-5 that integrates visual arts with African American and Chicanx Studies. The curriculum was the culmination of a four-year Professional Development for Arts Educators grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education. I collaborated with Deanna Cooke, Ph.D., one of writers of the curriculum, to design the lesson plan book.
I designed the book layout, created vector illustrations and icons, and edited the photographs of the art examples.
