I’m a graphic designer and all-around creative person. My interest in art began at an early age, drawing the cartoon mascots on the IHOP children’s menu while my mom would wait tables. I later branched off into painting and drawing as an outlet for expression and connection in my teen years.
I graduated from Loyola Marymount University (LMU) with a BFA Graphic Design and was recognized as a Scholar of Distinction by the LMU College of Communication and Fine Arts. My education at LMU not only provided me with a foundation of knowledge and skills in graphic design, but also a drive to use graphic design practices for positive social impact by bringing important stories to light.
Upon graduation from LMU, my internship at the Marymount Institute for Faith, Culture, and the Arts became a full time position. In my role, I oversee all aspects of the design for the Marymount Institute and its book publishing presses. I have designed over 100 book covers and interiors for clients including Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka; UC Berkeley Arts + Design; artist, Vincent Desiderio; and executive producer of Modern Family, Danny Zuker.
Working on campus at Loyola Marymount University has afforded me with the opportunity to collaborate with members throughout the LMU community. I have been approached by LMU departments to do a variety of projects, from designing K-12 Chicanx and African American History learning materials for the School of Education, to illustrating key art centered on transformative justice for the 2020 Bellarmine Forum. I also mentor and manage a group of talented student interns each semester and guide them to illustrate children’s books and design social media content.
In my spare time, I enjoy making music, drawing handmade cards for loved ones, and going to thrift stores.
